Yeah, that's why I figured that, having an '82, no way I'd have the original 
style alternator. My car was made just days before the company went into 
receivership. All I can figure is, maybe at a QAC they had a problem with 
the unit and swapped it with another car on hand, or a unit on the shelf. 
I'm the third owner...who knows, maybe a prior repairman replaced the 
motorola with the cheaper of the two available styles. Even today, you can 
buy a new Duc. if you want one. I dunno. But I've seen the label on it with 
my own eyes, to my dismay.
