I wouldn't make such bold claims, but I really notice the pain in my wallet as soon as I step out of my Citroen and into just about anything that runs on petrol. 70 litres (if I try really hard) and over 700 miles (if I try really really hard). I saw some bod from Crystler on the noise the morning boasting about their new SUV that gets over 100km on 7 litres of diesel. Woop-e-fecking-doo, my car rolled off the line in 1999 and the engine was already 3 years old then, AND it's only an 8 valve 4cyl. The 16's are doing even better now. 182,000 miles and counting. 90mph in the fast lane all day long with 4 people and a bootfull of luggage (if needed). Towing a car transporting tailer (usually with a DeLorean but have been known to stray to Renault Alpines) hundreds of miles and the only casualty is my clutch which is truly on its last legs after 130,000 of those miles.... ...can anyone tell I've been on the sauce this evening?
