Lauren,
As I think you know the price included- 1) Complete exhaust rebuild with all
new studs, gaskets, and resurfacing of the manifolds (severe leaks)etc. 2)
R&R Pass. side cyl. head and replace gasket and head bolts (clt. leak)3) R&R
C.V. shafts and repack all joints w/new boots 4) Inst. sleeved R/H axle yoke
w/new seal 5) Sleeved crank pulley and seal 6) Misc. stuff
We already have done items item's 3), 4) & ,5) and started on the exhaust.
We could put off doing the head gasket leak but it makes little sense with
the exhaust system already down. The car would be a hard sell with exhaust
and head gasket leaks so investing the 3K would more than pay for itself.
I wish you had talked to us before buying the car a couple years ago on
E-bay but hindsight is 20-20. We have to work with what you've got but I
understand your frustrations. When we both have time we should sit down and
discuss whether it's best to sell or keep your car.

Subject: [DMCForum] Is It Worth It?
Hi everyone.
I'm struggling with a dilemma right now. My beloved Belinda needs a
lot of work done. She is at Rob's shop. Apparently, the whole
exhaust system is shot, and will require $3000 worth of repairs.
Does anyone, particularly those of you that have seen my car, have
any advice as to whether it is worth it? All total, I have spend
$27,000 on this car. For that price, I could have had a perfect
Delorean. I'm still left with one with 24,000 miles, and cosmetic
problems.
I hate to sell it, because I love the car and also because I have
sunk so much money into it, but I don't know what to do. I can't
really afford another $3000.
Any idea what a car with moderate aesthetic problems (chipped paint,
saggy rear fascia, torn seats, dashboard crack) and a bad exhaust
would fetch?
After this, I think I will have replaced every part of the engine
except for the transmission. Any idea how long that will take to
go?
Thanks!
