I was wondering what DMCH does when this happens? For me, I was sick of having this happen. I tend to pull my interior out on occasion to work on new items on my list. This panel has been a constant pain in my neck. Always worring about breaking one of these pins off. I noticed that they are spot welded on. When these break, do you normally respot weld them? For me, I decided to make a more permanent fix which would allow me to take this panel off without any issues. I decided to drill a hole where these pins once were. I then bought (4) m5 x16 button head hex screws. I also picked through my spare delorean parts and pulled 4 clips that are used to secure rear quarter panels in place. I tapped these clips to accept the button head screws. Then i put these clips around the holes that are on the frame connected to the center console. Next, I put the panel cover on and secured it down by screwing the button head screws. The button head screws are black and blend in well with the rest of teh panel cover. This option allows me to unscrew the panel instead of having to pry it off. This is also a great option for those who have snapped these pins off and don't want to spend the money for another panel with the same pins. I've attached a picture of what the panel looks like when secured down. I'll also post a picture of the clip and button head screw. ---------------------------------------- Subject: Author: Erik Geerdink Date Posted: 30 March 2006 Message: Here's a picture of the screw and clip ---------------------------------------- End of message(s) Yahoo!
