I know that the topics of religion and politics really stirs up alot
of emotions. Past couple of days I've been pretty busy, and haven't
had the time to follow up on some of the topics. But I feel that it is
imperative to let the forum continue as we presently have it set up.
We live in a world that is quite possible, too far PC. We're trying to
be sensetive, or go out of our way to prove we're not prejudice. When
it takes far less energy to simply let something go, we all seem to
opt for the more complicated route of explaning ourselves.
I really feel that even though we've seen disagreements, we've really
had a break-through with everyone here. Rather than argue, we're
actually talking and communicating with one another. I know that on
several things, most notably for myself, my opinion of Marc Levy, I've
had a great opprotunity to see things from someone else's perspective.
And it's been fantastic.
I know that what we sometimes discuss here can easily be construed as
*delicate* in subject matters. But we're learning that we can talk
about these things with others in real life. The biggest problem I've
seen here that seems to actually cause a stir isn't the actual
difference in opinion or belief that someone shares. But rather, the
way they enunciate their words, to ensure that the proper message gets
across.
With what we've learned here on how to communicate with one another, I
think that we should all take that home with us, and utilize it in our
lives. We can break down those barriers, get to talking, and most
importantly, get to getting things done. Spread communication by
making people more comfortable about talking about those subjects that
we've been told are far too taboo to speak with one another about.
Remember, the argument is what keeps us from talking to one another.
Overcome the argument, and get straight to the words. The more we
teach others others this, we can make our own little contributions
twards making the world a better place. Even if people disagree, at
least we get everyone united in conversation.
