Bob,
I can understand that feeding spinal cord & brain tissue to
animals can infect them with MC, but what is the deal with
deer? In nature they are herbivores. Are the infected deer
ones that are raised in captivity and then possibly released
for hunting? I would like to know.
That book I mentioned earlier, Diet For a New America, by
John Robbins discusses in detail about how well more than
half of all fish brought onto American shores are fed to
cattle. This is supposed to bulk them up quicker. Now
imagine the absurdity of seeing a cow wonder out of a
pasture, onto the beach and into the ocean to catch fish
because it got tired of chewing hay. To paraphrase
Jagermiester, "ARE YOU REAL_ly going to eat that?"
The book gives similar accounts of the chicken & pork
industries. Factory farms must be hell on earth for those
animals. I want to go back to being vegan if I can still
eat healthy. I am thinking about raising grasshoppers for
food. They seem to be easy to grow. Ever see crickets
raised in a bait & tackle shop? All those cricketing noises
are cool. The bible says they are "clean food" while it
forbids eating pork. This is, of course, ancient Levitical
law that is not 'enforced' anymore. Hey Marc, do you eat
pork? What about them grasshoppers? Remember to pull off
the wings & legs first. Tastes like asparagus. ;-)
> The bigger question now is what role has prions played in
evolution.
I dont believe in evolution at all. If anything the process
should work in reverse toward entropy. I used to half-way
take carbon dating seriously until I studied it in a college
text book. When I realized the absurdity of their
assumptions, I laughed out loud. The idea that the ratio of
C-12 to C-14 is always constant is total nonsense. There
are seeming endless examples of LIVE specimins that carbon
date to millions of years old. I believe that the entire
planet is less than 8K years old. I also believe that
dinosaurs became extinct because Noah didn't put them on the
ark. I bet my life on it. I have nothing to loose. What
do you have to loose?
Walt
