My next door neighbor called the city.  He also called the cops, my 
insurance company and anyone else he could think of.  He wanted 
to sell his house and mine was an obstacle to doing  that.

I wonder if you couldn't press trespassing charges against

They weren't tresspassing.  I didn't mention that the gate on the 
block wall was always open.

That's exactly what I was going to do.  I'm doing all the finishing 
work myself anyway.  (I work on houses - I don't work on cars)  Did I 
mention that I am the Queen of Spackle????  But the contractor 
figured out a way to make only one step down which, apparently, I 
can feel free to break my neck on and the city won't care.
