I have done it several times with no problem. does your car start in the rain? if it does no problem in a car wash. Nothing is spraying directly at the electronics. My friend had a 90 chevy beretta and the electronic spark control box with wires was on the front bottom of the engine and it still ran when he drove through a puddle. Dont be so paranoid with the water. Delorean did several water running tests with the car. on the test track they had a big water testing area they drove through before the cars were shipped to the US. if water would hurt the car dont you think it wouldnt run when it rained? If there was a problem dont you think Delorean would have sealed off the top of the engine cover?
