Ha! Man that's cool. I'm not going to do it, but cool nonetheless. I say it was time to change the oil because it was dirty, and it was the wrong type for the cold weather. When I'd start, I could hear things rattle dry for about 1.5 seconds while pressure built up, also evidenced by my gauge. I started up this morning in 30 degree weax and could not obeserve a measurable time period where I could hear the engine rattle, plus the gauge pressure rose during cranking, not just when the engine became self-sustaining. Walt: I was wondering why this thing had such a large sump. Now I know. Thanks for that knowledge. Also, people were wondering if I wrecked or already had blown rings when I finished my head gasket replacement job. I was pleased to notice that the oil level never went down due to burning past worn rings. There's no blue smoke from the exhaust either. --- In DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Andrei Cular" <acular@xxxx> wrote: > OK let me end this oil change debate.
