When these computers go bad, generally they start off in 2nd gear. Be easy on the accelerator pedal because if you are in 2nd when you think you are in 1st then that is really hard on the transmission. If your computer governor is all original then it is safe to assume that it is bad. (really a no-brainer). Your transmission may have other issues, but until to fix the computer then you are wasting your time on anything else. While you are in there, I suggest changing the fluid, dropping the pan and at least checking the filter to see what is stuck in it. For the trouble you might want to just replace the filter. I wrote up a procedure for disassembly & cleaning the filter which is presently the only technical article posted on www.DMCForum.org. Walt Yahoo!
