Re: [DMCForum] Lower ball joint replacement

I just talked with the owner who replaced his lower ball
joints in my shop, and he reminded me what PJ Grady's
reinforcement collar does. The lower control arm is
basically a heavy gauge sheet metal that has a hole stamped
in it for the lower ball joint to fit. When they stamp the
hole, they do it in such a way that it creates a shallow
sleeve for the ball joint to fit into. PJ Grady's
reinforcement collar fits around this weak sleeve and adds
considerable strength to it. If you are ever this far into
replacing ball joints, I think it is a really great idea to
use PJ Grady's kit.
