If you think it is dying pull it from the tank and try run it totally dry for a little, it should make even less noise than when it is pumping the gas. Only problem is relies on the gas for lubrication as well as cooling, but I have had mine running for upto 5 min dry and it only starts to get warm. I am absolutely CERTAIN that the pick up hose is not collapsing. I also couldn't remember if I had a pick up screen on it when I put the pump in a year ago. Well it turns out that I DID so I KNOW I didn't suck up any solid matter. I'm afraid the pump may be just plain dying. The thing that pisses me off about that is it's only a year old. Any warrenty Houston offered is probably expired by now. I have another question which I'll put in a new post to keep my thoughts seperate. Rich Yahoo!
