Has taken forever and a day, but upper half of engine is tight. Can hose it down all you want with no effect on idle. Only effect I find now is crank seal in timing case cover. Am basically working my way down. Idle is tantilizingly close. Dash tach not most accurate in the world, but I'd estimate fluctuations at 50+ RPM. Thing is: it shouldn't fluctuate at all. Absolutely nothing variable on the car EXCEPT driver's foot on pedal. Everything else hard set with screws, just like carbureted vehicle. Am not going to rest until DeLo idles as well as Lincolns. *MUST* be possible... Note that only thing I've removed is idle speed motor (which actually had audacity to stick closed once. That's when I decided to throw away). Lamda wasn't option on Renault's PRV to begin with. My fuel distributor is physically different than yours. Makes no sense to keep an O2 sensor in exhaust stream, or ECU behind seat, when they have nothing to control. I do need a replacement Bosch plug wire and hope to trade ECU for an old one (doesn't ANYBODY have one to get rid of? Surely John Hervey can't be sucking up the whole supply.). My CPR is also different. No vacuum chambers. They aren't there. Period. Don't anyone try to talk to me about enrichment spikes etc because I don't have anything to attach hoses to even if I wanted to. Renault didn't use spark advance cut off solenoid either. I didn't remove -- wasn't there to begin with. That's why my spark advance is live all the time, taken uphill of throttle plates (just like a carburetor). Speaking of carburetors, my PRV *IS* CIS. I'm not the one in other Group who carbureted the thing (but don't think the thought hasn't crossed my mind). Actually, find this fuel injection quite tolerable, which is something I never thought I'd hear myself say. Once unmetered air removed from equation performs rather flawlessly. Did need provision for fast idle, but note: this is not something I dreamed up myself. Simply installed existing fast idle device from BMW (hardly an upstart organization). May put me in minority of DeLo owners, but any mechanic of other contemporary marques should instantly recognize what it is. Oh, I did remove my charcoal canister (PO had spliced into PCV line with a plastic Tee). I don't like them and have removed on all my cars. Former location is where I plan to hide vacuum canister for cruise control. It's simply taking the long way around. Yahoo!
