[DMCForum] vaccum under the valve covers?

lol...you folks kill me ;)

It's amazing how myths get perpertrated over the years. Just looking
at the setup will show you there isn't. The oil filler breather piped
to the air cleaner? Looks like a normal PCV function to me. In fact,
if there is a car that has vacuum under the valve covers I'd like to
hear about it.

There is opinion and there is data...like I said, measure it.
If you don't have measuring gear just put a ziplok bag or a rubber
glove over the oil filler and start the engine. Or pull your oil
filler with engine running and see if stumbles, after all that's a
pretty big hole.

If there is supposed a negative pressure delta compared to ambient in
there than from where would it come? What is the path? That dinky
vacuum line to the cold start pipe? The one with the orifice? Basic
conductance theory shows that ain't possible. It could never pump the
volume down, especially with the outgassing taking place.

Come on Mate...I know you know better ;-)
