Have heard of an LP based product that apparently made the rounds as R12 was phasing out (is still available, but must have license to purchase retail), but now think it's just R134 or R12 at a shop. R134 available in big 30lb canister but manifold set needed to charge (my gauges and hoses are all single fitting). I use cans for convenience, plus cost savings only equavalent to dollar a can or so ($1.74 vs $2.50). I've left mineral oil in place and reoiled new compressors with PAG, and notice absolutely no difference (those conversion kits include an extra 2oz oil charge in one can, but that's it). Isn't ester oil advertised as compatible with both R12 and R134? Seem to remember topping off a noisy factory compressor with some a couple of years ago.
