Richard, Richard, Richard... Have you not been following threads in DMCNEWS group? 18,000 volts is not hot. Adequate maybe, but definitely not hot. 40,000-45,000 volts is hot. Go get yourself a new MSD or Pertronix high performance coil. Get a new set of plug wires (Bosch for DeLo are actually quite nice, but for now any new set with umbrella boots will do). Get a set of low resistance plugs (I burn Delco R44's) and gap them at least .038-.040. Run a temporary wire from the jump start post to positive side of coil. I thought you'd already replaced ignition. If this is LAST thing you've tried I may have to come back up there and chase you around the parking lot. You do have new cap & rotor too? Is no substitute for compression or spark (leave heads & pistons alone and concentrate on spark).
