Tom replaced his hood struts with something he found locally. They are dimensionally correct but the barrels are a bit thicker and the struts are much stronger. All he has to do is barely lift the hood and the struts do the rest. If they were any stronger then I would be worried that you would bend the hood closing it. The nice thing about these struts is that when they get weak in a few years then they will still be as strong as the regular "vendor approved" ones. I'm going to get him to find the part number.
