Well that is definetally the American way. Make a major reduction in
production to increase prices. That way more will be sold under an
artificial shortage driving up more demand, and price.

Less people naturally want something when it is in good supply, but
when word gets out it might be running low, hello price wars.

That is damn sickening, a.k.a. the American way it seems.
