Maybe the belt has stretched a little from use and needs to be retightened?
On my other truck that doesn't get driven very often, a very slight layer of
rust will develop on the a/c clutch surface.  When I turn it on it will
scream for a few seconds and then all is quiet.  Well, until the next time I
move the truck.
