Yeah, that's most certainly not normal. And it's definetly not good on
the car. You're gonna crack the fiberglass where the mounts are for
the strut. FWIW, I have a set of Lift-O-Mats from DMC-GG installed 5
years ago. About 2 years into their use, the damn thing started
leaking on me too.
Off hand, it does look like the torsion bars on the car are too tight,
after seeing this on other cars. Struts fail, people don't swap them
out, they just torque up the torsion bars. Try the pre-check from
dmcnews.com, and see what the results there are

Quick question: Why did you swap out struts?
