The big deal is its dangerous and very hard on the car. That cloud of
steam might look really cool but you are introducing a major thermal
shock to the engine. And when you first hit that water your tires do
very little no matter what the comericals say. Have you ever been on a
boat or jetski and hit the water running 20+mph? The water can easily
damage the the body of any car.
I'm not saying don't do it, just use a little common sense when and
where you do it. When it floods we have been known to waterski down the
roads behind the truck... But not in residential areas or with too much
other traffic.
