The IP address indicates one of 2 things. Either SonnyV is James Espey or
SonnyV is at DMCH. There's no denying that. It's most likely to be another
person at DMCH. As Claude knows, it's difficult to maintain multiple online
personalities.
The IP is their assigned IP from rr.com and it is their router. In one of
James' posts I found his IP behind the router (192.168.xxx.xxx). If you
could match the inside and outside IP between James and Sonny you'd have
your silver bullet, but it'd have to be posts made on the same day. My bet
is they are using DHCP and the addresses are assigned dynamically by the
router so it would catch almost daily or at least weekly depending on if the
computer is restarted.

Subject: [DMCForum] Re: Behavior unbecoming of a "Proper Vendor"?
I feel that I have conclusively searched the Yahoo database
concerning Sonnyvr2000's activity on the DMCForum. I have
found only two messages posted by him which I will quote
below. I searched for 'unusual activity' from 7/28/2002 to
present. This is as far back as Yahoo would allow. I saw
that a few people had a habit of deleting their messages
sometimes for obvious reasons and other times for no
apparent reason. Sonnyvr2000 has not deleted any of his
messages for the time period which I could check.
As per Sonnyvr2000's typical behaviour on the DML, on the
DMCForum in his first message his point is all about DMCH as
usual. In his second message he is searching for a source
of carpeting. If he were representing a 'proper vendor'
then I can understand why he would not want to appear as
such. It would lend to the lack of privacy that people
could then say where such vendor buys their merchandise
from.
In any event, it appears that whoever Sonnyvr2000 actually
is, he has not made any blatant attempt to falsify his
identity or impersonate another member of the DMCForum.
Therefore I see no reason to ban him. I will, however,
consider anyone's opinion on the matter and will review new
evidence as it becomes apparent.

Out of curiosity, I downloaded DMCH's new price list
from their web site and compared it to an old Kapac
price list dated May 1, 1993 that was in some papers
that came when I bought my car. At first I thought,
"how can anyone expect someone to lower prices for
anything, much less to what they were 6-10 years ago?"
Christ, I'm in business for myself and NONE of my
suppliers ever lower their prices - and I don't have
the size of operation that DMCH does. Health
insurance, property insurance, property taxes, gas and
electricity, toll-free numbers, salaries, benefits and
that's just a few of the things that I can think of
that cost more now than they did before.
Here's what I found from the list that Mike posted
earlier today:

Items marked NA were not listed in the 17 page list
that I have, stuff like fuel senders and defrost
switches were not available from Kapac back then, and
only available now at these prices because DMCH remade
them. If anyone would like a copy of this list, let me
know via private email and I will try to get one to
you. If nothing else, it's interesting reading.
Anyway, it appears that DMCH ** did ** lower prices to
Kapac levels (or even lower) on these items. I didn't
compare each and every item on both lists (I'll save
that for task for later).
I'm surprised, from what Marc wrote, I expected stuff
to be higher, not the same or lower as they were 10
years ago.

Did someone mention that they knew the direct source
for the carpets? I'm looking for a set for a Reatta
convertible and wanted to try them direct. Email me
direct at sonnyvr2000(at)yahoo.com - thanks.
