[DMCForum] The car laughed at me

My car has been sitting in the driveway for a few weeks now with the air 
meter system apart to fix air leaks. 3 weeks ago, I got it all back 
together just to have a major air leak around the idle speed motor pipe. 
I took it all apart again so I could JB Weld a smaller section of the 
pipe on and use a rubber hose to connect it. End of the weekend, too 
late to do anything.

Next weekend came, got it JB welded and all lined up. Started to put the 
fuel lines back onto the fuel distributor, managed to drop a copper 
crush washer of the large bolt sitting on the right between the 2 
smaller hoses, this bolt also has 2 lines going to it. Autozone and 
Advanced Auto did not have a proper size crush washer. Too late to do 
anything else, it sits for another week.

Tonight, I have a crush washer from Walter. Bolt the air mixture onto 
the engine, put the fuel lines in place to the cylinders. Get all the 
bolts in on the fuel distributor. Start to tighten the bolt on the right 
side closest to the rear of the car (weaves up across the top of the 
distributor and over to the warmup regulator). The bolt was finger 
tight, put a wrench on it, and had it snap. The broken bolt was still 
loose enough in the hole that I could turn it and get it out with 1 
finger without any force.

I swear I heard the car laughing at me as I broke down and cried. I had 
to call Walter to keep from destroying the car. If I had a hammer in my 
hand, who knows what would have been left except a pile of rubble. Of 
course this weekend I'll be out of town, will probably call Walter 
Sunday on my way back in to see if he has one I can get. I'm tempted to 
screw the fuel distributor and all lines and go with a new one just so 
the car cant laugh at me.

Oh the fun of owning the car that refuses to drive on the road.
