Another owner and I spent the better part of this past weekend at Josh's
house doing this exact thing.  It started out as a windshield replacement,
which led to some weather stripping being replaced, which led to some trim
being repainted and replaced, which led to...well ... a few days of work but
the end result was well worth the effort.

The 3M stuff gets tacky and sets up within minutes when it is warm outside.
We spent a lot of time cleaning the old stuff off and making sure the new
weather stripping followed the body lines as close as possible and was even
when the doors were closed.  The next time you do any weather stripping
replacement, try the 3M stuff and I know you will like it.  Less than one
tube did everything.

By the way, what happened to you over the weekend?  We sure could have used
someone else to lift and move the car with frame damage.  You won't believe
the rust that frame had, and what happened.  I will post a picture soon.

You can use 3M adhesive, but I still prefer to use black RTV
sealant. Applied in a zig zag pattern, and after applied to the
sill, it holds nicely. Just takes a few hours to cure properly. But,
to each his own, just choose which method you like.
