[DMCForum] dizzy nomenclature   ...was Re: Poor running

Rich, I first heard ignition distributors called "dizzy"s by
Martin G.  It's a nice term because it sort of sounds like
"distributor" and implies rotational motion.  However, I've
seen too many people refer a fuel distributor as a "dizz" or
"dizzy".  I think this confuse things.
Now what really confuses me is how David Teitelbaum likes to
call a fan temperature switch an "otterstat" or
"otterstadt".  Where the hell did that name come from?
Doing searches online tells me that it is a proper family
name of German origin.  Perhaps this was a brand name?  No
other marque calls it an "otterstat".
