That is what I understand as well. But I would think at the time these were
assembled, they were mostly done by hand and would have had something to
note where the pieces went. That is, unless they were so short sighted that
they believed it never needed to be serviced. Still, if pieces do fly out
when you open it, just set up your video camera and replay it in slow motion
to see what happened and where those pieces went.

I recall that if you put the wrong spring or shim back in the wrong
place, it will leak and that the parts are not interchangable.
