I have had one professional weldor (weldress?) look at the frame so far,
and
she(!) said that it looks like it was done by someone learning to weld.
Several beads holding the frame together have "cold spots".  She says that
with use she would expect many of these welds to break.  Fixing it right
is
going to include a long process of grinding out the bad welds so that they
can be done over.  I plan to thoroughly document before & after and get it
posted to the web.

What's holding me up right now is fixing the brakes on the truck I need to
haul the frame.
