Dave, you're right, this engine is bulletproof. But no man can survive without blood in the venes. No PRV6 will last forever without oil.... ...and if it is already crying for oil and the owner is not listening to it - how long will it last ? Some few seconds of cranking won't destroy anything, but it's about two weeks now that we're listening to Rich how he's telling us that the motor is squealing or whatever. Maybe the bearings or piston rings or cylinders are damaged by now as he has tried to start it - how many times ??? I bet the motor will run in the next days, but how long ? I wouldn't give a dollar for it because it may be damaged by now. But hey - gas and oil is cheap in the states, so if it needs some more of it - no problem.... Hey wait another second - wasn't this my first question - is oil in there ? These engines, like most, are fairly bulletproof. If it turns over, it should run. It may run poorly, but it should run. A rebuild may solve the problem, but only through blunt force -- if you redo everything, you're likely to fix the problem inadvertently. It might work, but it could be overkill. The whole process of troubleshooting is really just a methodology. If you nail the methodology, you WILL solve the problem. ------------------------ Yahoo!
