[DMCForum] Re: To all the electrical gurus

Travis,
I love the project idea. Normally, I'd call myself an electrical
guru, but this time I'm going to comment on the fog.

Chemical fog (fog juice, as it's often called) is composed of a
mineral oil base. I'm sure you know already, it produces the fog by
heating up a "plate" then sparying this juice onto it. It vaporizes
the juice and creates "fog". This leaves a herendous residue behind.
(Take a close look at your local dance club - if they have mirrors
and a fog machine...you'll see the film! Would you want this in or
on your car?

I know it sounds exotic, and maybe it's a little impracticle - but
have you considered dry-ice (frozen Carbon Dioxide)? You wouldn't
need such a powerful heater, and the fog has a tendancy to actually
roll and fall (as it is actually colder) rather than fill (like
smoke - as the chemical fog machines do). And it leaves no residue.
It doesn't last very long, but it isn't very expensive.

Hey - thats my two cents. But your project sounds like fun!
