Re: [doc] Windscreen Fitters

Hi

Of course bearing in mind that the 3no black pieces of the external
windshield trim need to come off and associated weatherstrip around
the doors to get to the screws holding these on and also the internal
A post covers / material tucks under the windshield on both sides.
Before the windshield is fitted the removal of these and repainting /
re covering if necessary might be a good idea, im sure any owner will
remove these bits far more carefully than a commercial windshield
fitter. As far as taking out and refitting the screen, looking at it
there doesnt seem to be a lot to it over and above whats on 'modern
day' cars. On the two cars i have ever needed a new windshield on, a
Baboon with a crow bar could have done less damage to the trim around
it. What was the name of that company now selling D windshields cant
think now...anyone had one of these yet and what are they like in
comparison to a OEM one? Based on past experience, I think that when
mines due to be replaced i will be carrying it out myself.

Regards
