I got a letter today as well, as i copied Martin's bti app word for word (o: 
, they must have always known how many cars were produced, so i guess they 
have just got greedy, i think everyone should appeal as they were happy to give 
the cars 9705 class when a just few were being imported but not now, the letter 
also says that there is no evidence of scarcity value but it did say in The 
Sun last year that it was   the least car advertised for sale in the UK, but 
hey the HM customs and excise can do what they like normally so i don't think 
appealing will make a difference, but its worth a go!!!!
