Re: [doc] DMUK brakes,/ springs

I have had that experience with my Xantia after a particularly spritied romp through the lanes towards my flat. The Xantia has a more-intelligent-than-average braking system as it's all high pressure hydraulics with the suspension beign an integral part of the brakes (active pitch correction based on the speed you hit the pedal to name but one). It has 300mm vented discs up front, though they aren't cross-drilled they're still twin 12mm lumps of steel, and this resulted in amazing amoutns of brake fade when I least expected it. Luckily it only meant carrying on when I meant to turn right, but I know what you mean.

Hmmm... if you plan on dropping some "high horsepower" engine in the car the standard brakes will not last long. I - first hand - have had the unpleasant task of slowing a car from high speed with standard brakes (the car was not) - it's scary as hell.

Like I said - I'm big on brakes.
