Well, what a nice e-mail. Thanks for taking the time.... I knew a James Clark
once, and he had a spitfire, which he crashed. He was an opinionated twat too.
I did not write the section you quoted, but YOU did not grasp the fact that the
cars featured on TCTS were given freely for the day, as was the owners' time.
The annoyance was that they were going to be misrepresented (which they were). I
believe the show did receive some changes to make sure some "good light" was
shed on them. Though most of the half-truths and some downright lies still
remain.
As to the rest of your comments, I would suggest that the D you "blew clean
away" did not know he was racing you. They aren't a particularly fast car, I'll
grant you, but no slouch either. Mine is one of the faster examples, and without
the catalytics and the lambda system (which the car never would have had in
european spec), it'll be even faster and I'd be more than up for a dash down the
road with you at Santa Pod.
I would suggest you haven't ever actually SEEN a DeLorean up close, even less
actually sitten in or DRIVEN one (god forbid). Until then, keep your trap shut,
mind your manners and turn your damn foglights off!
