RE: [doc] Factory Test Track protection?

The chap at the HALF is Kevin Baird, who is a chartered architect.  In light
of the new owner's promises to take Proto 1 to Belfast for Eurofest 2006, I
would have thought it would be an excellent opportunity to save the track
which must be in danger of deterioration to the point where it is unsaveable
except at huge expense. Mind you, Eurofest promises to have owners on the
track in May 2006, so they seem confident it will be driveable.

Colm.

  Hi Column et al,

Your contact at "Heritage Lottery Fund
in Northern Ireland" would be a good man to talk to about the proposal to
  protect the Factory Test Track.

After the EuroFest2001 I wrote to the Belfast Mayor, Planning Dept, and
District Lands Office about zoning the Test Track as an "Industrial
Heritage
  Site".

The more people we talk to about this, the more chance there is that the
  Test Track will be saved.

Alistar, any updates on the status of new developments on the site?

  Cheers,       IAN

I have just had an e-mail from the head of the Heritage Lottery Fund
in Northern Ireland who has just heard about the car and seen the
eBay post.  he is going to try to get emergency fiance to make a bid
and I've urged him to contact the seller before bidding.  He does
not hold out much hope of getting the authorisation at such short
notice.  I passed on the earlier sugegstion of a delorean toruist
attraction and he was genuinely enthusiastic.

It will probably still be bought by to John R Huckleburger III for
  his son to play with....

  Regards

  Colm
