Re: [doc] DMUK brakes,/ springs

Hi Chris

Before passing judgement on the new brake hoses, and the difference a set of rebuilt calipers makes, have a go. I always thought my car stopped well, but compared to PSO, they're pretty poor. Locking up the back wheels with the handbrake doesn't say much for the tyres.... <grin>

A long time ago, I too drove SIJ 1083 (see pic below) and it was on par with PSO at that time.

Seriously though, its certainly sounds as though your brakes needed
attention.

Out of all the DeLorean's I have owned, if everything is set up and working
properly I have always found them to be quite adequate for normal driving. I
remember particularly driving , what is now Darren Cunningham car. The
brakes were absolutely spot on, Quick stopping in straight line, even the
hand brake would lock up both back wheels at speed. I think it's often down
the little mileage many of these cars do, things start to sick, rust up etc
and hey presto the brakes gradually get worse.
