The easiest, though not definitely not the quickest, way to gain access
is to remove the entire centre console. Expect to be standing on your
head cussing and swearing if you don?t.

Either way, after you have removed the AC panel, there is a single self
tapping screw holding the mode switch to the centre panel, once removed
you can get the switch out from the _back_ of the panel (hence why the
centre console removal makes access much easier)

There are a number of pipes (6?) connected to the back of the mode
switch, pull them off AFTER making note of where they all go. They are
supposed to be colour striped and the manual is supposed to tell you how
they all connect - I'll leave that to your judgement :)

There are also three electrical connections to the switch. Be very
careful when removing them, they are held in place with little melted
plastic blobs which snap off if you're too aggressive. Remember to pull
the black plastic body of the connector to release them. Pulling the
cable just locks them tighter on!
