I have found the fuse for the stop lights!
It’s an inline fuse in a plastic holder, the fuse inside says “12A
continues, LUCAS 25A”. For anyone that might have a problem where the brake
lights stop working but the fuse #18 is good – this fuse is located on the LEFT
side of the steering column right where all the wires go next to the wiper
delay, flasher unit and buzzer. Brown wire on one side and green on the
other.
My car is vin 6149, Nov 1981, manual transmission.
Thanks,
Tom
Thank you for all the input guys!
I’ll look for the glass inline fuse but let me make a note that my car is
6149, Nov. 1981. I don’t believe it’s considered an “early” car. Anyway, I’ll
let you know if I find that extra fuse.
This actually works very nicely for me because I have a perfect use for
this unused fuse now. I have some nice power and heated seats that I want to put
in and this available fuse will make my installation very “factory like” ;) I’m
happy!
Thanks!
Tom

Subject: Re: [DML] Fuse 18 - problem Early cars had an inline glass fuse down in the drivers foot well. Find the
brake light switch near the pedal and follow the wires.
