Hi Gary, No step ladder needed. Steps are built-in to the tires. Use the big edge cleats (about 6" apart) on the tires to "walk up" the tire, then just turn and sit in the vehicle. It's pretty easy to do, once you see it done or do it once yourself. Getting out is either reversing the process or just jumping down and out. However, jumping down more than a few times in one day starts to get real old, really fast.
