I soldered the crimped eyes on the wiring harness at the fuel pump. This made a big difference. One of the wires actually pulled out of the eye. When the car is running, check the voltage at the fuel pump and compare it to alternator voltage. You should see at least 12.5 to 13 volts. Less voltage requires more amps. That's how you burn up pumps too. The air dam that keeps the hot radiator air off the fuel tank helps keep the pump cooler too.
