20 Lbs? :) You should be able to get to the thermal control valve without removing anything. Just reach in the VOD from the back, and you can feel it. I admit, it is hard to see, but you should be able to find if any hoses are attached to it. Is the hose also missing to the CPR? Removing the distributor cap does not require any fuel components be removed from the car.
