I notice when you said "handles the A/C compressor load just fine without any idle speed compensation" you were careful not to suggest the RPMs didn't dip. A properly working CIS system will make for a steady idle regardless of any load. That's its purpose. EFI and k-jet can use it, a carburetor can't. Is it *better*? Yes. Does it *matter*, probably not but it's a step backwards to lose it.
