It shouldn't drop at all. When you start the car without you foot on the throttle, does it rev to over 2000 and immediately drop to 800? If not, your idle system may not be working properly Martin Sent from my BlackBerry® -----Original Message----- From: "birdwell77095" <birdwells@xxxxxxx> Sender: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Fri, 13 Jul 2012 11:20:03 To: <dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Reply-To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DML] RPM Drop When turning on AC How much should the RPMs drop when turning on my AC? A friend's car only has a minimal drop, maybe 50 RPMs. My car seems to drop 200-300 RPMs as if there is a large load on the engine. Bad electrical contacts? Not fully charged? It blows cold so it seems to be fully charged.
