Re: [DML] DeLorean Capacitors

There are actually a dozen or so capacitors in the original harness. As hot as it is, I may take pictures of every one just for the perverse pleasure of proving doubters wrong (yet again).

These are the loomed capacitors I know of:
- 2 capacitors on the radiator fans
- 1 capacitor on the turn signals
- 1 capacitor on the windshield wipers
- 3 capacitors behind the radio bracket (not diodes mind you -- look at the pictures)
- 2 capacitors attached to the blower motor
- 1 capacitor on the ignition coil (the only one you will find on other cars of the period)
- 1 capacitor on the engine compartment bulkhead

Neither of my cars has a scotch locked capacitor behind the radio bracket.

K-Jet typically has at least one scotch locked capacitor in the engine compartment (at the throttle microswitch IIRC).

I seem to remember a scotch locked capacitor under #5939's dashboard -- I'll look for it while taking pictures of the loomed capacitors (pics in the other post are #2508).

DeLoreans have an excessive number of capacitors (IMHO).

All those capacitors indicate a fundamental flaw in the electrical system, on the ground side (IMHO).

Whoever wrote the original Rules of the List, which explicitly state "Personal impressions ... or personal experiences are especially welcome", was far more open minded than some of its current members (IMHO).
