Well done, Bill, the sum total is 4 capacitors which are part of the loom.

Your assertion that "all those capacitors do indeed indicate a fundamental flaw in the electrical system, most likely on the ground side." remains wrong.

In my opinion, the extra scotch-locked caps were most likely added to get around the poor internal suppression of the craig stereo.
