Chad has been very clear: he is planning to do this as an elective procedure. Chad doesn't want K-Jet -- period. It's his car, he can put anything under the hood he wants. Live with it. The double standard that plagues the online DeLorean community is mind boggling. If chad was contemplating an EFI conversion, he would be hailed as a hero. People would be falling all over themselves to encourage him. If his EFI conversion hit problems (for some reason they always do -- one of the Texas owners who is trying to develop a standardized EFI kit actually had to send parts from his car to Megasquirt because he couldn't get it to work right), people would be encouraging him not to give up and to keep on trying. But when Chad considers a standardized carb conversion that has been vetted through 15 installations, that is guaranteed to work on the very first key turn, *THAT IS WHAT HE WANTS*, people start criticizing and arguing against him. What a bunch of bullies. Bill Robertson #5939 --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "jtrealtywebspannet" <jtrealty@...> wrote: > > Here is Chad's original "problem". If he is having issues with the car running in heat I am sure they can be fixed without having to gut the K-Jet system and stick a carburetor on. Realize even a carb is not immune to the effects of heat. If you do not figure out what the problem is now with the K-jet system, you may not "fix" it by going carb. If the problem is in the fuel tank, you still have to have a pump and a pick-up system to get the fuel to the carb. If that is where the problem is a carb is not going to help. I agree it is very inconvenient to get stuck anywhere. There are a lot of other things that can stop you besides the fuel system! If you do not have enough confidence in your car to take it on a long trip putting a carb on it isn't going to magically make reliable. > David Teitelbaum > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
