I thought all of my rattles were gone but it looks like I found another one. It appears one of the shift column U joints is making a rattling noise. The good news it Martin sells the whole linkage and it isn't too expensive. I'm wondering if it might be wise to remove and inspect the steering rack for noises as well. Martin sells a nice rebuild kit however I will need to inspect the steering rack for pitting before I spend the money on one of his kits. The driver side steering rack bushing seems to have a small crack in it as well. I'm not sure if this is making a rattling noise but it might be causing noise too. If I do rebuild the steering rack I will probably replace both bushings just because I will already be in there. Here is a video of the rattle. Any suggestions or do I seem to be correct about the U joint making noise? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mWuJbOCfs0&list=UUEzDFwV2UrRxYy_6lXifgMA&index=1&feature=plcp -- Steve Rice #16510 ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
