Turn to Page M:18:01 of the Workshop Manual while you test the starter relay. Sometimes a picture helps. Since you have a loose Red/White wire in the engine compartment (Farrar's solenoid jumping mod) you can attach a test light to it and lay it in the back window to watch while you turn the key (to verify the bulkhead connector is OK).
