Thanks John. I'm thinking about the $150 option you emailed me last week.
I got a complete trans computer assembly from a local source and honestly it
looked darn near NOS.

My trans is shifting like a truck. My car has been sleeping for 25 years.

It won't shift out of 1st until about 35 mph, then slams into 2nd, and never
gets to 3rd, save for one time, and when I let off the gas, it's quickly
downshifted to 2nd. If I drive around 25 mph, and let off the gas, the
trans freewheels. If I give it gas, the trans catches up to to the engine
speed, and eventually, if I go fast enough, it shifts into 2nd.

I swapped the borrowed computer today, and much to my demise, it behaved
pretty much the same as the first one. (not exactly, but close) I still
can't get 3rd gear.

I think I pretty much swapped my bad computer for another bad computer.

So, can I send you my core I just removed and go from there? I think you
said it was $150 + shipping.

I would like to try to get this swapped as soon as possible. There is a May
12th meet in Indianapolis I'd like to be at if possible. Thanks for your
help today!

Doug

Doug, The units I sell you don't have to remove the old governor and there
is no core exchange and I have never had a problem.

Trying to replace the automatic transmission computer (entire assembly) to
fix my shifting issue. Got the big parts on the right (passenger) side of
the trans off, no probelm. Cannot figure out how the wire that goes int the
rear on the drivers side comes out. Looking at the new one, it looks like a
simple counter-clockwise twist and pull, but although I can twist it easily
enough, I cannot pull it out...

What am I missing?

TIA

Doogie
