Sadly I agree with James. As the oldest part of the moderating team I am
guilty of suggesting and lobbying for moderation to be turned off. Now I
strongly wish it would be turned back on.

 

In that final year of moderation I rejected VERY few posts, if any.

 

Unlike other moderated marquee-specific forums, the DML has never
categorically rejected messages disparaging the our cars. But baiting
has never been allowed.

 

Without all of the conversation about whether it should be moderated or
not I'm sure the traffic will dry up considerably.

To paraphrase Mel Brooks - "Fuck the members!"

I'm increasingly disappointed in the stewardship of the DML in the past
few years. No real thought to the future, just the status quo (or worse,
outright neglect). Personally, I would rather see it shut down, and only
the archives preserved, than have it continue on as it is now.
