I'm not considering converting any of my current vehicles (DMC included) to CNG, but saw a story on the news & made me start thinking about the future possibilities. The whole US infrastructure is not setup for convenient filling, so I think that is the biggest argument against considering the conversion. The cost & installation 'issues' regarding parts & space are lesser issues. Agree with the time to recoup costs...at least at current time here in the US. Really, with the talk of alternative engine setups, I also got to wondering if anyone at all had converted to CNG. We have EFI, carb, & electric out there...was just wondering if there was a CNG version that existed (who knows, there may be a fork lift fanatic out there that LOVED CNG/LP so much that they converted all their cars - LOL). Considering you would have LESS power on CNG, and have to fill up more often, and (DeLorean specific) be giving up lots of space for tanks, I don't think it is practical. It would take a long time to recoup the expenses, unless you use the DMC as a daily driver. Long trips would require proper planning for CNG fillup. ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
